Google I/O
event strategy, large scale production
I was the Executive Producer for Google I/O for four years, leading step changes in event strategy, production, and execution on the annual 9000+ person three day marquee event.
In 2016, I developed the strategy, pitched the concept, and orchestrated the game-changing move of the conference from Moscone Conference Center (our home of eight years) to Shoreline Amphitheater in what was the creation of a first ever developer festival. In 2017, I focused the team on connecting deeper with our core audience - the developer community - through targeted programming and design excellence in what became the highest rated I/O ever in a decade long history. In 2018, I worked with the team to change the game again and expand our content offering to include new sessions and a roster of external luminaries to continue increasing developer engagement. In 2019, to increase impact within budget and maintain a solid foundation for continued innovation, I negotiated with our venue partner securing a multi-year deal, saving millions of dollars.
My scope also includes leadership of a 80+ person core team, partnership with internal exec stakeholders up through Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and management of a multi-million dollar budget.
